Non competitive, practice and performance based classes for both experienced and beginners, ages 10 through adult. Formed in January 2013, the Louisville Irish Dancers are the sister school of the Lexington Irish Dancers.
Irish Dance is a form of dance that primarily uses just the legs and feet. Traditionally the arms remain at the side of the dancer’s body and the torso remains still. There are several types of Irish step dancing which include: jigs, reels, hornpipes, ceili dances, and set dances. Dancer wear soft shoes (also known as ghillies) and hard shoes (or jig shoes).
We perform throughout the year at various parades and festivals.
